week 7, red!

This is a day late cuz I was sick, L.

Anyways, enjoy this week's blog post.

So, Charlie and I tried to check out some movies from the library yesterday but they got flagged due to age restrictions. I could've sworn R rated movies were 17 and up not 18... but the lady was kind of mean about our silly little mistake in checking out rated R movies while only being 18 so that was very unfortunate. (I thought librarians were supposed to be super friendly and stuff). So we ended up getting The Bee Movie (an absolute classic) and Red.

We watched Red with my mom last night.

Red is a great movie. It's one my dad had my brother and I watch with him when we were littler. It has all the qualities that a proper action movie needs to have: super secret man with long complicated CIA/FBI backstory that kills all the bad guys with no struggle. Comedy!!! I can't stress this enough... and plenty of guns and death.

But really, this movie excels in comedy

Usually, I hate action movies because they're immensely boring. However, Red is very comedy. For instance, government conspiracy old guy carries around a plush pig for like 5 minutes!

We need more comedy in action movies. Most action movies are just some chad dude shooting people for like 2 hours straight, with the same boring plot line as every other action movie.

So yeah.

Red follows the plot of this one dude (Is his name Frank Moses? Honestly I forgot the MC's name...) who talks to this lady over the phone (she works in customer service... I forgot her name too) and falls in love with her. But this CIA dude wants to kill him!! So they send dudes to kill him after him and then her. And she's basically kidnapped by the dude while he's tryna protect her. (W RIZZ!!!!)

And then they recruit some of his old pew pew friends (ex CIA buddies?) and they track down the CIA dude and then they sneak INTO THE CIA!!!!. And then they try to assassinate a dude.

I love the characters in this movie. Except for the main love interest, she's kinda boring to be honest. This was also my opinion for the first Thor movie. (I hate Jane.) (This mini rant is irrelevant to the rest of the blog post).

Yeah. That's basically it.

Watch the movie if you want.

That's all for this week, happy end of finals!

Thank you Dr. Moffit for a great class.
